Very many congratulations to our new amateur jump champions RYAN MAHON (19 wins) and GINA ANDREWS (10 wins) who were presented with their magnums of champagne at Stratford on Friday evening by Sports Personality of the Year Champion Jockey AP McCoy. Ryan enjoyed his last amateur ride on home turf on Saturday evening on a winner for his guv’nor Paul Nicholls when partnering Rebel de Maquis at Stratford and his last amateur ride abroad on Sunday when beaten only a neck into second place in the Gras Savoye Fegentri Marechal Foch Challenge in Auteuil.
Congratulations to TOM CANNON (13 wins) who received champagne for the runner-up slot. Both Ryan and Tom now look forward to professional careers which begin on Tuesday. We wish them luck and will follow their careers keenly. Congratulations also to LUCY HORNER (6 wins) having achieved the runner-up slot for the ladies.
