Joe Wright enjoys first career success at Hexham

Well done Joe Wright who partnered Minella Hero to win the Marie Curie Handicap Hurdle by 20 lengths today for in-form trainer Micky Hammond, the first winner of a treble on the day for the yard.  This was Joe’s 1st ever winner in only his 3rd ever ride under Rules and his 2nd over hurdles and the ecstatic 17-year-old jockey said it felt “Absolutely unbelievable, really good!”  Joe is a veteran of the pony racing circuit and is based with Micky Hammond at Oakwood Stables in Middleham.  He added “I’d just like to say a big thanks to everyone at Micky Hammond Racing and especially to Kate Walton.”
